What does it mean to be an astronaut? What does the training involve? What equipment do astronauts wear? What do they eat in space? What are the effects of a space journey? You will get answers to all these questions and curiosities directly from the invited astronauts.
Daniel Michio Tani is a NASA astronaut and American engineer. He coordinated mission number 100 on the International Space Station. In 2001, he flew to space for the STS-108 mission, spending over 11 days in orbit and performing an extravehicular activity lasting more than 4 hours. In 2007, he completed five more spacewalks. He also participated in the NEEMO 2 underwater mission, spending a week living in an underwater laboratory.
Astronaut and biotechnologist, Yi So-yeon is the first person from South Korea to fly to space. She graduated from KAIST with a master's degree in mechanical engineering and was selected in 2006 for the Korean Astronaut Program. She became a lead astronaut in March 2008, and on April 8, 2008, she flew aboard Soyuz TMA-12, spending about 11 days on the International Space Station, where she led a series of scientific experiments.
